Macmillan coffee morning​

Every brew and a slice of homemade cake makes a difference for those affected by Cancer.
All donations will go towards Macmillan.
Club member Adrian Smith and his wife Sally have run this fundraising event over the last couple of years. The club rides are          planned to visit during the morning and the cakes are very good!
£500 was raised for this excellent cause.


Aston Hill Everesting - Charity Event.
On Saturday 31st August the Club will be riding the elevation of Mount Everest, in aid of Helen and Douglas House. This is an Oxfordshire based children’s hospice where club member Morag works.  The intention is to get the membership (all/some?) to ride up Aston Hill 76 times in one day. This equals the height of Everest. Obviously the more members that reach the summit the less each volunteer will have to do!We are aiming for a target of £2000 and hope that most of our members can attract some sponsorship and climb the hill repeatedly!We will have a group justgiving page and we will be seeking donations from beyond the club.We will encourage non-members to have a go (allowing us to summit Everest twice with a huge bit of luck!) and they would pay a small charitable fee for the pleasure.More details will follow but please save the date and hope for good weather.

Heartfelt thanks to riders, helpers, donors and supporters. We broke the £2000 target and made a real difference for Helen and Douglas House. It was a moving experience and showed a sense of community and generosity. The stats are:

Isle of Wight 2024
Date for your diary, the 2024 Isle of Wight trip will be on the 12th and 13th July. Same format as previous years as in Day 1 meet in Milford on Sea for a ride around the New Forest. Stay locally to catch a ferry from Lymington on the Saturday morning to do an anti clockwise lap of the Isle of Wight following the official route returning to Lymington at approx 6pm.

 Paris Roubaix April 6th 2024
An opportunity to take on one of the monuments (Classics), ‘Hell of the North,’ ‘A Sunday in Hell’, ‘Queen of the Classics’, whatever you want to call it, it is tough. You do get to finish in the famous Roubaix Velodrome and have the opportunity to watch the pro Women’s race on the Saturday and the Pro Mens Race on the Sunday.

There are normally three distances, but all take you on the cobbles (Pave) 70km, 145km and 170km.
You would be responsible for your own travel and accommodation.

Mallorca 1st – 8th May - 2022
A return to the popular cycling Island and staying again at the Hoposa Hotel Uyal. This will be our 4th return and repeating an enjoyable cycling itinerary.

A 2 day trip commencing in the New Forest (day 1) and culminating in a circular ride of The Isle of Wight (day 2) then back to Portsmouth for dinner and drinks
